Very few can boast that they created a ‘Classic Trance Anthem’ in their studio, that accolade is one of many that Steve Allen can claim!
During Steve’s time as the producer and DJ within the project ‘Allen & Envy’ Steve managed to create a number of global hits including ‘Silhouette’, ‘Stole The Sun’, 'Dont Say', ‘Home’, ‘Rush’, ‘Rescue Me’ and ‘Kardia’. He created regular music for Armada, Black Hole, Future Sound Of Egypt, Garuda, Flashover, Pure Trance and his trance has been championed by the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Aly & Fila, Paul Van Dyk, Solarstone and countless others!
It comes as no surprise why Steve’s productions have dominated the Beatport charts for the last 5 years, with the ‘Allen & Envy’ project reaching Top10 status on Beatstats Artists, a chart of the best selling acts on Beatport over a 12 month period!
But Steve’s talents don’t just lie in the studio, playing his productions at the worlds biggest events is something that drives and motivates him! This was topped off with a producer set at the launch of “Transmission Melbourne” in front of a sold out 8,000 fans!
Other notable European shows include A State of Trance 650 - Utrecht, The Street Parade - Geneva, Luminosity Beach Festival - Holland, Colors Festival - UK, Quest 4 Trance - Holland, Godskitchen - UK, Gatecrasher - UK, RONG - UK, Goodgreef - UK, Zoom - UK, Trance Sanctuary - UK, Passion – UK, Remedy - UK and many more.
On an international scale, Steve has toured Australia, Canada and the United States, where Allen & Envy was chosen to perform at the world’s first ever Dreamstate, an Insomniac Brand that is dedicated to curating stages and events unique to the exploding genre of Trance! The list of international dance hubs goes on that Steve has played having reached fans in LA at Exchange, Ruby Skye of San Francisco, Soundbar in Chicago, Room 680 in Melbourne and more recently at FSOE450 in UK and Taiwan!
Now, the solo path beckons, with Steve’s first release - a remix of Christina Novelli’s “Where We Began” on Garuda just around the corner, and countless more releases forthcoming on the scene’s biggest labels, its clear that there is so much more to come from this talented artist!
At sixteen years of age a spark was ignited in Dan Thompson’s heart after attending a weekly ‘rave’ in his local town hall. He purchased himself a set of turn tables and that paved the way for this Southern England born DJ’s future in music. He wanted to be a DJ! Music became Dan’s passion and every spare moment was spent practising, listening to music and going to clubs for inspiration.
Dan eventually became a regular on the Portsmouth trance scene but decided to try his hand at producing, releasing his first track ‘Bipolar’ in 2012. Like a dream come true, ‘Bipolar’ caught the attention of trance legend Armin Van Buuren and featured on his weekly radio show ‘A State of Trance’. Little did Dan know then that he would go on to feature on the ASOT radio show multiple times in the past four years, including being picked for Armin’s very own ’Tune of the Week’ on three occasions, as well as having six tracks released on ASOT, with a further two having been signed for release in 2017.
Not only has Dan been welcomed with open arms by the Armada family, he has also become a firm favourite with Coldharbour head honcho Markus Schulz, releasing five tracks on the Coldharbour record label, with another release also set for 2017, and full support always given in Markus’s sets and on his weekly radio show Global DJ Broadcast.
Dan has collaborated with the likes of Talla 2XLC, Solis and Sean Truby, Craig Connelly, Mino Safy and Omair Mirza. He has also remixed for Arkham Knights, Antillas, Fabio XB feat Christina Novelli and had his remix of Armin Van Buuren and Susana’s ‘Shivers’ released by Armada after Armin heard it during Dan’s debut set at ASOT 700.
Dan is known for his big melodic breakdowns and dark and techy big room productions, making him a versatile player in the progressive tech-trance scene. His sounds have so far seen him play the afore mentioned A State of Trance 700 and Coldharbour Beach Festival, Netherlands, The Gallery at Ministry of Sound, Trance Sanctuary and Elevation Audio, London as well as Trancescated and Fest Jak Chces in the Czech Republic, to name a few.
With well over 1 million plays of his tracks on Soundcloud alone, three top ten hits, confirmed releases on ASOT, Coldharbour and FSOE signed up for 2017, Dan Thompson really is one to watch!
